possessive

“Life cannot be without relationship, but we have made it so agonising and hideous by basing it on personal and possessive love. Can one love and yet not possess? You will find the true answer not in escape, ideals, beliefs but through the understanding of the causes of dependence and possessiveness.”
Jiddu Krishnamurti

Possessiveness is a need to control or own someone or something. It is an unhealthy attachment to another person or thing that is rooted in the fear of loss. The belief that you cannot survive without the object of your affection. Possessiveness is a barrier to intimacy because it prevents you from seeing the other person for who they truly are. True intimacy requires trust, openness, and a willingness to let go. Drawing the card of Possessiveness challenges you to love deeply while also letting go. It is through non-attachment that you find the path to unconditional love and freedom. If someone is being possessive of you understand that it is not a symptom of love but od control and fear.

Possessive Mantra: I find unconditional love and freedom through non-attachment and self-awareness.
