oppression

Among those who dislike oppression are many who like to oppress.”
Napoleon Bonaparte

Oppression is a system of power and control that denies individuals their basic rights and freedoms, a form of physical or emotional abuse. It is the silencing of dissent, the exploitation of the vulnerable, the creation of an environment of fear and hopelessness. Oppression violates your inherent worth, your power to create, and your right to live in peace and freedom.
True liberation comes from believing in your own power and, if necessary, requires a commitment to fighting for justice and equality for all. If you have chosen the card of Oppression, the challenge is to resist and to support the oppressed (especially if that person is you). Through effort you will find the path to justice and (collective) liberation

Oppression Mantra: I embody liberation in a world free from oppression.
