ego
“If your ego starts out, 'I am important, I am big, I am special,' you're in for some disappointments when you look around at what we've discovered about the Universe. No, you're not big. No, you're not. You're small in time and in space. And you have this frail vessel called the human body that's limited on Earth.”
Neil deGrasse Tyson, Scientist
The ego is both a sense of self (and individual identity) as well as a construct of your mind that can become inflated and distorted. It is the part of you that identifies with your thoughts, emotions, and external achievements, that creates a sense of you as separate from others. From a spiritual perspective, the ego is a source of suffering and illusion. It is said that through transcending the ego, letting go of your attachments to the self and connecting with your true nature that you may find peace and liberation. If you have pulled the card of Ego, the challenge is to balance self-awareness with humility and selflessness.
Ego Mantra: I acknowledge the vastness of the universe, embracing humility and interconnectedness.
