“You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a basket. Instead, they set it on a stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before humanity, that they may see your good deeds and glorify God.”

Light, is your call to courage so, shine baby shine! Your thoughts are valid - share them! Your words are worthy - weave them! Stand up and be seen for the magnificent bright spark of creation that you are. It is not your business what people do with that - or how your bright light impacts them - so fearlessly flip on your switch. This card also asks you to be mindful of any ‘baskets’ that seek to cover your light for their own reason and keep you in the shadows. These may also appear in the form of critical voices inside your head. Voices from the past (teachers, parents, frenemies), gaslighting exes, or just plain ol’ fear. Light is symbolic of transformation and renewal and dispels darkness. It is the spark of creativity within you. As Julia Cameron said in The Artist’s Way: “Afraid of feeling foolish, we often back down from our dreams. We take the voice of the Censor as the voice of reason. In reality, it is the Censor’s voice that is foolish, taking us out of joys and future rewards.” Let your light guide you on the path of self-discovery and enlightenment. Now is the time to shine!
